And he did not stop there: he became an apostle, for he obtained for his grandfather, a poor street sweeper, the grace of baptism and Communion before death.

A girl was preparing to make her First Communion. She already knew all the doctrine and almost all the prayers. One day she said:
— Mother, I would like to make my First Communion at Easter.
— No, you cannot! — replied the mother.
— But why, mother? I want it so much...
— No; you are very disobedient.
— Ah! is that why, mother? You will see how I will no longer disobey.
Fifteen days passed; the girl seemed transformed.
She went to her mother:
— So, mother, have I not obeyed well?
— Yes; you have behaved well.
— Well then, mother, now you must let me receive Communion, mustn’t you?
This example was imitated by other children and, at Easter, for the first time, there were First Communions of young children, accompanied by their parents, who also received Communion.
